Jim’s passion for food safety education began on the UW-Madison campus where he received a BS Degree in Food Service Administration and Dietetics. His management path developed from restaurant supper clubs and campus dining during college years to contract management positions in Healthcare (Hospitals and Retirement Communities) while working for Marriott International throughout the Midwest and finally to Self-Operating Business & Industry type operations as the Restaurant Manager of Operations for Northwestern Mutual at their home office in Milwaukee, WI.

This experience drives his commitment to give back to the industry and stay connected to the restaurant community. He fulfills this desire by delivering comprehensive, practical training that prepares professionals for real-world challenges.

As the founder of Badger Food Service Consulting, Jim has helped over one thousand food service professionals earn their ServSafe Manager Certification and guided operations through countless successful Health Department inspections and compliance audits.
